Austria
Our visit to Austria was over two months ago as I write this and looking over the photos I am reminded of why this was one of our favourite countries. Not only is it extraordinarily beautiful but we had some great times meeting up with friends and family, enjoyed some Austrian hospitality, watched Craig’s brother and his friend compete in a half Iron Man and fell in love with a town called Hallstatt.
Celebrating our arrival in Zell am Zee.
The sun and the swans came out for us as we walked around the lake to meet the Harper clan.
The start of the Iron Man 70.3, a 1900m swim in the lake.
Frazer and Marcus both putting in a great performance and still managing a smile!
Craig in his element and contemplating a swim.
Me in my element with a giant cuppa.
Helen and Robert testing out our kayak.
Exploring Linz with Nik, Craig first met him in Australia and it was great to catch up with him in his home country.
Playing on an art installation in Linz.
A cheeky visitor to the momo.
Saying goodbye to our Austrian friends and hosts in Attnang.
Beautiful Hallstatt took the honour of ‘longest time spent in one place’ so far, we couldn’t seem to leave!
Lookout point over the lake.
A perfect place for kayaking.
This is the bag the kayak goes in, of course we had to see if it was big enough for me….
It may not look like it but it did actually rain for half of our time in Austria….
And after the rain comes rainbows 🙂
Up in the Dachstein Mountains.
The ‘Five Fingers’ viewing platform on Mount Krippenstein.
Hallstatt town centre.
Having a picnic by the lake.
Random spider shot….
Doing a lap of the lake.
And taking a break, it was hillier than I had expected.
